Programs Supported by the Fund
The fund primarily supports eight programs to help assist orphans and care givers in
the Baikal region. In the last five years we have raised over $300,000 for the needs
of the children, but with over 5,000 homeless and orphaned children in Buryatia
alone, we need all the help we can find.
Birth to Three Centers
Teachers are trained on how to stimulate development and learning on an
individual basis. Every year 48-50 children have been treated through this program.
Other funding has been cut for this program. BRAFF contributions are essential for
this program to continue.
Operation Chance
Our program developed to help specific children with physical disabilities that
prevent them from effectively communicating with others.
HOPE Program: Helping Orphans Pursue Education
Geared towards children who at age 16 must leave the orphanage, Helping
Orphans Pursue Education (HOPE) provides funding for orphans’ living expenses.
Funding is only appropriated to children who successfully pass college entrance
exams and maintain good standing at the college.
Scholarship Fund
Helps families with in-country adoption costs for older or harder-to-place children.
Nutrition Program
Supplemental food and vitamins are provided to orphanage children.
