Birth to Three Centers

Every year 48-50 children have been treated through this program for speech
therapy, small and large motor skills, development and general rehabilitation.
LSS in 2001 brought two specialists from both Buryatia and Mongolia for
training in the LSS Birth to Three Program in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Out of
LSS/Baikal Family Fund, 3 therapists traveled to St. Petersburg and Moscow for
additional training and in 2002 Dome Rebrunka (infant orphanage) in Ulan Ude
provided a week training program for the therapists from the orphanage in
Ulaanbataar, Mongolia.

In Buryatia, we have 3 fully-equipped therapeutic classrooms and employ 5
specialists. In Mongolia we have started 2 classrooms and employ 2 teachers.

On January 1, 2004 the Director of Dome Rebrunka in Ulan Ude decided to end
this program because of budget cuts. With enough donations, BRAFF's goal is
to fund the continued use of the Birth to Three Centers.
